 Sclerotherapy is a medical procedure that treats varicose  and spider veins usually found on the legs.

Sclerotherapy consist of the injection of a sclerosing agent directly into the vein.

 

The solution causes the vein walls to swell, stick together and seal shut, stopping the flow of blood.

 

As a result, the vein fades within a few weeks.
